At Boston University’s Institute for Sustainable Energy, Michael J. Walsh served as technical lead and project coordinator for Carbon Free Boston, a research effort for the Boston Green Ribbon Commission. The team examined changes in buildings, transportation, energy, and waste needed to reach carbon neutrality.
The project produced a summary, technical analyses, and a social equity report developed with All Aces and the Applied Economics Clinic. These outputs connect energy modeling with decisions about housing, mobility, infrastructure, and who benefits from climate action.
