Michael J. Walsh and Joan Fitzgerald of Northeastern University developed the inaugural Boston Climate Progress Report for The Boston Foundation.

The assignment examined progress across emissions, resilience, and equity, using twelve outcomes to assess the changes Boston needed. It also identified four larger actions requiring cooperation across city government, institutions, communities, and the state. The Boston Green Ribbon Commission advised the project.
