Jonathan Krones, Ph.D.

Jonathan Krones is an environmental engineer whose research focuses on industrial ecology, solid waste management, and the circular economy. He is an Associate Professor of Engineering at Brandeis University and previously helped launch Boston College’s human-centered engineering program.

At Groundwork Data, he applies life-cycle assessment, material flow accounting, and systems modeling to renewable fuels, waste, and decarbonization planning. His contributions include the Massachusetts 2050 Roadmap, Liberty Utilities testimony, waste-to-energy research, and the 2035 Clean Energy and Climate Plan.
